The right time to buy an airplane is determined by multiple factors. To simplify, we will discuss the two main factors; annual cost and hours you currently spend in the air.
If you are flying more than 300 hours annually via charter or airline it may be time to think about buying an airplane. That said, the cost of annual upkeep: maintenance, hangar, and pilots, can start at around 1 million a year. If this number doesn't easily fit into your annual budget, it may not be the right time to buy and chartering is a no-hassle solution to keep in your pocket.
